FINAL EDIT

Here is my final edit of my thriller.

Free sound website

For my sound within my thriller, I wanted both ambient and non diegetic sound such as low base to even out the sound levels. I wanted to be able to hear sound from within the film and also add sound to create tension so the audience are able to connect to the thriller. If the piece did not have the low base tune I added, or the police radio recordings, it would make the thriller boring, as without sound, the footage alone does not hold as much suspense as it does when the music is added. 

From the website https://freesound.org/ I gathered a range of different sounds that could potentially fit into my thriller, ambient sounds such as the clicking of a pen, and the scraping of the chair, to the recorded police radios about how there is 'no gun involved'. This helped make my thriller much more realistic and it links to the police aspect of the opening, helping the audience suspect Amy as being someone in the police force.

Editing

I continued to edit my thriller to make it better and more sleek. I cut down the flashback footage so they are extremely small, instead of taking up a lot of screen time, making them a lot more tense and add to the convention of thrillers. I decided I did not need to re film or film extra footage as the footage I had was good to a high enough standard to create tension as well as create narative enigma.

Sound

In the double lesson today I added the basis of my sound to my thriller. I found a website where I could download free, copyright music and add straight into Premiere Pro. This website was helpful as it provided me not only with non diegetic sound, but also with ambient sound from within the nature of the film, for example the clicking of the pin lid and the moving of paper really helps make the thriller much more professional as it includes ambient sound as well as non diegetic music.
Adding music was hard to do at first as I was unsure on how to mix and change the volume levels so you could hear one piece over the other, however with help, I was able to figure this out through experimenting and playing around with the software. I was able to successfully mix the sound so you could hear the police radio over the low bass that I added as a base for my opening scene.

Editing - adding titles

Today, I added my titles to my thriller. I made the titles in Adobe After Effects, and just imported them into Premiere Pro without the solid white background so the words were visable in the footage without a solid background. I continue to add different titles to my film ever session, and make sure that they appear in the correct places and stay on the screen for a considerable amount of time.

Today, I started making my titles for my thriller. I used Adobe After Effect CC 2015 to create these titles, and used black text which will stand out over the top of my footage when added into premiere pro. 

Dialogue for news Report

I want to record sound of my thriller that includes a reporter talking about the missing girl. I willl have a male and female voice, both talking about the crime, and they will be edited over the top of the footage. I want to add the sound effect of an old radio to the sound, as this will make the piece more realistic and as if its come from a radio. 

DIALOGUE;

PERSON ONE; "Missing teen who was reported misisng last april has been found..."


PERSON TWO; "A body has been found in Westbrooks Forest on thrursday morning" 


PERSON ONE; "...It is still unknown what happened to her, Detective Barber is still to give her statement."


Person 1 will talk half of their statement, and then I will cut and edit persons 2 report, and end with the last part of person 1's report. This mixes them up and makes the piece a lot less ordered.

Film Association

This is the film association company I came up with and created for my Thriller movie.

I created this in Adobe After Effects, the same software I used to create my Purple Productions opening. It has become easier to use this software as I am now comfortable changing and using different effects. On this particular one, I used different transition edits to the Purple Productions page, and I used a distorted transition instead of a Jaws one.

Thriller Draft Edit

This is my first draft of my thriller. It does not have sound as I was unable to add sound today due to technical complications. I will add my music/sound as soon as I have access to Adobe Premiere Pro.

Production Company

I started to think about my production company that will appear at the start of my thriller, and began to work on Adobe After Effects in order to create a proffessional, sleek look. I wanted my text to move and do something on the page other than just having a boring, plain production company page.

In order to make my text move, I watched a youtube video online to help explain what to do, I was able to recreate the effect and by doing this I have created a better look than what I was hoping for. To do this, I chose different layers and added different effects to each, for the layer named 'purple' I added a glow to the word, accentuating the word and making it stand out, I then added the transition effect 'light wipe'. This gives the word this effect;

This effect carried on until the entire word is readable, then the word 'production' begins to appear.







I decided that I wanted 'Production' to be in a different colour, a purple colour as that is what the company is called. I also wanted this word to be the most dominant in the footage, therefore placed it underneath 'Purple'. 
In order to add a different transition to this word, I made sure I was on the right layer, and instead of chosing the same effect as the word 'Purple' had, I went for the transition called 'JAWS', this made the word come onto the page like teeth shutting together.

Editing

Today, I started editing my thriller together, I imported all my files into Adobe Premier Pro and got straight to work cutting and placing them together. At times, this became very difficult as getting to grips with the software became hard whilst editing tiny fragments of footage in order to make it look as if it was flashing back. I eventually got the hang of this however and I was successfully able to add all my footage, and edit it all together into a rough edit.

Here are the images I took from the day of filming my victim in the forest, I have decided to use these images within my thriller as it will add depth and show the audience different perspectives of the victims wounds, both on printed out images and ones imported as an image over the top.
